Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Overnight Oats in a Jar

Overnight oats, also known as oats in a jar, are a great way to prepare breakfast ahead of time. This cold method of making oatmeal is my preferred choice, especially in the summer. And when made in a jar it is a very portable breakfast you can eat at home or on the go.

This batch was made in a just finished peanut butter jar with the leftover peanut butter still smeared on the sides, my fave. You could also make in a mason jar, or any kind of sealable container. I like to make this larger serving size as inevitably a munchkin ends up on my lap eating half of my breakfast, but you can easily cut this recipe in half and still feel plenty full.

Play with mixing and matching ingredients for a variety of flavors.

Ingredients:

2/3 cup Old Fashioned Oats
2/3 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
2/3 cup Milk of choice
Whole Banana, mashed
1 tbsp Unsweetened Shredded Coconut
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Peanut Butter (I just used what was left in the jar)

Directions:

Mix all of the ingredients together in preferred container such as jar and mix well. Put it in the fridge overnight or for several days. You can make multiple batches at a time to enjoy all week long. I like to serve mine with sliced bananas on top. Enjoy!
